Bad Southern Belle of the Day: Bianca Jagger

Is there a better name than Bianca Pérez-Mora Macias Jagger?  NOPE.

I know she was married to rock n roll royalty, but this woman is more than just a fierce jeweled turban and red lips.  Bianca has used her fame to get her Angelina Jolie on, mostly in the form of human rights work in Asia, the Middle East, Eurasia, and Central America.  Nothing is more fashionable than a clean conscience!

Bianca and that man.

Bianca rocking a 1940s Victory roll, like one of my idols Betty Grable.

DAMN she looks good in a suit.

I love a fabulous caftan paired with healthy hair.

Image of the Day: I want to be a Red Head like Rita Hayworth

I discovered this woman when I was around 12 years of age.  Rita Hayworth, one of the most glamorous movie starlets of yesteryear, is the reason why I've always wanted to be a red head.  She was one of the top pin ups, behind the incomparable Betty Grable, of World War II.  Sadly, I am unable to pull red hair off, but I know a certain law student in Virginia, ahem Ashley W., who can with finesse.

Image of the Day: Carla Bruni-Sarkozy

BEAST!  SHE WAS A BEAST! Carla Bruni looks like a cat and I love it.  This is what plastic surgery cat lady Jocelyn Wildenstein would have looked like had she started her surgeries in the 2000s instead of whenever she began them.  But yo, this woman messed up her face.  I can't even bring myself to put that photo on here so you can google it yourself.  FYI She is a former model/singer/actress married to the former president of France.

Image of the Day: Britney Spears Circa 2000

Do ya'll remember Britney Jean at the height of her fame?  Holy Smokes.  This is called Summer body inspiration.  It's designed to torture me; therefore, I'm buying roller blades and a thigh master!

Image of the Day: Coretta Scott King

The fur hat.  The broach.  The beaded necklace that matches the broach.  That beautiful teal, wool dress.  And child that shade of lipstick!  She was lovely.  Absolutely lovely.

Image of the Day: Headed to the Owl

Bright pink Barbie lips, dark eyeliner.  You're supposed to look like the All American girl.  Whatever that means.  I know it doesn't mean me.  There will be a posting on this later.

Blurred out the logo.  Because.  It's a legal thing.  It's not exactly fashion, but it is something I wear 24 hours a week.  And it's the smallest uniform I've ever worn.

Image of the Day: Adriana Lima

If this is what people will look like in the future, throw all of the racists out!  We can place all of them on the hundreds of arid, uninhabited islands in Greece, place 700 foot tall walls around the islands, and let them form their own inbred, racial monoliths.  We shall call them wildings.  That's all I have to say.  Also, Adriana Lima has really great skin.

Image of the Day: Princess Margaret

Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowden and the sister of the current Queen of England, Elizabeth, was quite the dish back in her day.  Look at that sloping neck!  And those shoulders!  Snowy white shoulders!  *Aside, my golden brown shoulders are prettier but I'm no hater!  I just read too many romance novels and they're always talking about snowy white shoulders!  Aside over *  Those are some pretty seductive eyes she's giving ya'll.  Ok technically it's one eyeball; however, it's a very seductive eyeball.

Margie is my polyester around the town goddess.  She had tons of boyfriends, spent a lot of money on clothes and vacations, and was definitely apart of the 60s swinging London set.  Have ya'll seen the tv movie?!  I stole 3 looks from that miniseries alone.  Please go watch it.  You can thank me later by giving me a Sephora gift card for $25.  That should buy me some chapstick.

Image of the Day: Wonderland Project, created by Professor Helen Storey and photographer Nick Knight

I love opera coats.  They're so...dramatic.

Image of the Day: Sunny Harnett, Evening dress by Grès, Casino, Le Touquet, August 1954

Let me tell you something right here: there exists very few fashion photographers whose pictures are considered art.  Richard Avedon reached the upper echelon of photography, well-known for his strong black and white compositions.  Every picture photographed by Avedon can be viewed for at least five minutes because there is always a subtext to each one.  And by the way, as a youngster he worked with James Baldwin (JAMES FREAKING BALDWIN) and later collaborated on a book called "Nothing Personal" published in 1964 with Baldwin providing the text and Avedon providing the photography.  Steven Meisel and Terry Richardson, noted fashion photographers as Tyra would say, can kiss my butt with their mundane portraits of mundane fashion and beauty.  Boo dahhling boo!

Image of the Day: Beyonce

My favorite picture from Beyonce's awesome tumblr.  I'm not even that big a fan and I can't stop looking!  Total guilty pleasure.  The headscarf, bright makeup, long messy single braid, golden skin, and jewel-toned dress just give me so much.  It's a simple shot styled really well.  Brazil maybe?

Image of the Day: Keira Knightly for Interview Magazine

Can we just talk a minute about how that lipstick is lined within an inch of her life?

Aside from the obvious cigarette trope, she looks BAD!  I may not have been happy when she took Tonya's man Dr. Zhivago and had his baby (If you have never seen Dr. Zhivago and have a love for Bolshevik-era period films, please drop what you're doing and watch this film or at least read the book), but I will never deny those cheekbones.
